Artistic Dressage is a discipline in which the horse/rider couple expresses themselves in a short but intense program which combines elements or figures from classic dressage or from other styles of riding in order to be performed in synchronization with the music.

This discipline requires in addition to riding techniques:

- An artistic sense

- A musical ear

- Creativity

- Emotion

In summary, it is about creating an original choreography to music and sublimating the technique through transmission of artistic emotions. Riders are not categorized and can therefore compete in the categories they want with horses from different categories. (amateur, pro or free pro). Riders can be junior (under 15 years old) or senior (over 15 years old). Riders must behave correctly with their horse. (sanctions can go as far as exclusion from the FDA)
