1 - show sports.

The sports that have the most success with the general public today are spectacle sports such as football, cycling or tennis which, widely reported by the media, are becoming social events. Two other types of sports are also developing: - Extreme sports access to individual achievement and - Artistic sports such as artistic gymnastics, figure skating, synchronized swimming, other disciplines now have their artistic version like the arts martial arts, fencing or skiing... In skating, there is the competition, the gala and the professional show such as - Holliday on ice -. Why does figure skating know how to bring together crowds and especially viewers? However, the general public does not necessarily grasp all the technical details of a high-level exercise: There are costumes, choreographies, galas with light where the best can express themselves freely... in short, it It's a spectacle. So we thought that there was a place for artistic dressage as an artistic sport and equestrian discipline in its own right: a discipline which, in our opinion, could conquer a new audience who simply appreciate the artistic side of a sporting exercise, both during a competition than during a gala.

2 - A notation favoring the artistic aspect and creativity

It seemed interesting to us to propose a discipline where each program is an artistic number where the interpretation of the music and the choreography are essential. Ideally, when riders and coaches are choreographing a new test, they should try something new, something that will advance dressage. Originality is reflected in movements, an idea for a cover (choice of theme and music) or choreography that demonstrates innovation. . Artistic dressage offers more intense and shorter tests, of the Equestrian Cabaret type with new authorized figures. Creativity is favored as well as the contribution of new sequences of figures. The outfit, the choice of music, the type of material (classical, Spanish, Portuguese...) and the figures are entirely free within the framework of predefined levels. We hope to win over a wider audience but also bring dressage enthusiasts into more dynamic and more visual events that also appeal to an artistic sense, generating new interest among riders in general, spectators and the media. Amateur show riders who cannot easily perform on the professional circuit will find an alternative in artistic dressage. Show organizers will find among artistic dressage riders a melting pot of new future artists.

3 - Accessible to all types of horses

Artistic dressage is intended to be a discipline that does not favor one type of horse but the performance of a rider/horse couple. The size of the horse, the breed, the format, the gaits are not a handicap, they can even become an asset because it is the ease of movements in accordance with the music that matters. Make the discipline accessible to horses of unknown origin, as in the majority of European countries, to more riders.

4 - Develop the figures and techniques

Artistic dressage requires putting in place real choreography... it's dance on horseback. All the horse's abilities are explored, including the use of the forelegs - leg, Spanish step, Spanish trot - (prohibited in classic dressage). Imagine a skater or dancer who is forbidden to use his arms! Making a horse dance to music requires great availability and a lot of responsiveness to the horse. To chain figures together, you also need perfect balance, maintained from the start of the sequence to the end. Horses are athletes in the same way as a gymnast or a dancer and we are far from having exploited all the possibilities of figures permitted with a horse. The dressage methods developed are new and make it possible to obtain very reactive and balanced horses in order to make possible these figures which, to date, have never been seen on a dressage square.
